Toyota KATA Workshop at LUXOENERGY

LUXOENERGY is a Portuguese industrial company dedicated to the production of flexible solar modules and innovative batteries and is in the city of Moura. On February 4th, the company hosted the Continuous Improvement for Excellence Workshop promoted by KATA School Portugal. The workshop aimed to introduce the scientific thinking approach to the company, inducing the practice of Toyota KATA and creating the conditions for its systematic practice throughout the organization.

During the initial workshop, the organization’s Vision for the Future was discussed, so that it was effectively understood by all participants. Based on the Vision for 2030, the organization’s challenges were characterized from the perspective of the different stakeholders, and the challenges to be addressed using Toyota KATA were selected with the company’s Management. The Toyota KATA principles were presented by the facilitator and the Improvement KATA was illustrated based on the examples described by Mike Rother in The Toyota Kata Practice Guide. Role-play was used to demonstrate the practice of Coaching KATA.
